3-Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Tour

Queen Elizabeth NP is one of Uganda’s prime wildlife destinations for someone looking out for big game. This tour will reward you with visits to the Katwe Salt Lake and the nearby L. Munyanyange known for its lesser flamingos that usually come to breed from there between August and November.
While on this tour, expect to see about 4 of the big 5 (leopard, lion, buffalo, and elephant) along other wildlife species like topis, Uganda kobs, gazelles, warthogs, hyenas, jackals among other animals. A cruise down the Kazinga channel will reward you with more wildlife sights as schools of hippos ravage the water and Nile crocodiles busk in the flowing calm waters of this channel. Several wildlife species often come to drink water on this channel in the hot afternoons as birds fly cheerfully along the banks of the channel.
You may as well be able to see a wide variety of bird species including the African fish eagle, African Skimmer, pink backed Pelican among several other species. The Park is home to about 600 species of birds, the highest of any single park in East Africa.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP (about 6hrs drive of transfer time)

After a sumptuous breakfast at your hotel, our driver guide will pick you up and drive you southwestwards to Queen Elizabeth NP, a journey of about 393Km (about 6hrs and 30mins). En route you will have a stopover at the equator for photographs and then proceed to have a lunch break later along the way. Upon arrival, you will proceed to the Katwe Salt Lake to see the traditional salt extraction that has been here since around 13th century. The nearby L. Munyanyange may gift you with beautiful sights of the lesser flamingo that always breed from here between Aug and Nov. Overnight and dinner at Enganzi Game lodge (deluxe)/ Kataara lodge (luxury). Day 2: Game drive and afternoon Boat cruise on Kazinga channel

3 Days Queen Elizabeth park TourIn the morning, you will have a cup of coffee and hit the Kasenyi track to explore the wildlife of this area. Anticipate to see a variety of wildlife species like lions, elephants, buffaloes, kobs, hyenas, elusive leopard (if you are lucky) and a number of antelope species. Kasenyi area is the hub of wildlife concentration in this magnificent national park. You will then return to your lodge to have a late breakfast as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, you will be driven to the Mweya peninsular for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The 3 hrs ride on this channel that connects L. Edward and L. George may reward you with beautiful views of the Nile crocodiles and hippos busking in the water as well as other wildlife that usually storm the channel in the afternoon to quench their thirst. You will later return to the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight at day 1. Meal Plan; breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala

In the morning, you may have a brief game drive hoping to see animals that you could have missed on your previous game drive as you proceed to exit the park and drive back to Kampala. Your guide will then transfer you back to Kampala or Entebbe for drop off.

    • Before boarding your plane, you will be required to show your covid 19 negative test results which should be valid for not more than 72hrs (applies for both Rwanda and Uganda)
    • Also you are supposed to fill a locator form (link below) which you will also be asked before boarding (failure to have it, you will be denied boarding)

    • Once you arrive in Kigali, you will take another covid 19 test and be in self quarantine at any of the chosen hotels in Kigali for 24hrs as you wait for your covid 19 test results

    You will then start your tour after your results have returned and you are proved negative

    • These results expire every after 72hrs, hence if your tour is still going on, you will need another test to allow you enter any other park or do any other activity after 72hrs of your test. (This applies to Rwanda only, not Uganda)
    • Before departure from Rwanda or Uganda, you need to do another covid 19 test not more than 72hrs before your departure as you will be required to present your results before boarding your departure flight.
    • While on your tour, you are advised to carry your masks and maintain social distance whenever you are in the public
