Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Akagera national park
In the morning, you will be picked from your hotel in Kigali and drive to Akagera NP in the eastern part of the country. The Park is home to the big five and has experienced one of the greatest wildlife recoveries in the recent past. Herds of buffaloes, zebras and gazelles can be easily spotted on a game drive. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on L. Ihem. Overnight at Akagera game lodge (deluxe)/ Ruzizi Tented lodge (luxury)
Day 2: Game drives in Akagera NP and afternoon boat cruise
In the morning, you will drive to the northern section of the park
for a game drive to explore the park's biodiversity. You may look out for lions, hyenas, leopards while not avoiding sights of herds of buffaloes, elephants and several antelope species. In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise on L. Ihema to see schools of hippos and crocodiles as well as some water birds. Day 3. Transfer to Volcanoes national park (5hrs drive)
Early morning, you will set off a spectacular drive to Volcanoes national park via Kigali with stop overs for photography and lunch. Day 4. Gorilla tracking and afternoon cultural tour

The park protects over 350 mountain gorillas some of which have been habituated into 10 groups that are visited by trekkers every day.
